Brand Development Case Study:
Protecting little smiles…one tooth at a time.

Historically, dental practices have been named after their founding dentist. But when that dentist retires, the entire brand identity retires with them.

That was the challenge with this pediatric practice in Texas. Our first task was to create a new name and logo—distinctive, memorable, and built to last. Our second was to develop a comprehensive brand and marketing strategy that would differentiate the practice and authentically connect with kids and families in the community.

As we were developing the “Little Stars” brand, a last-minute decision was made to move forward with the name Smile Patrol instead.

The challenge then became making the name fun and engaging for kids. By blending elements of military, public safety, and superhero characters, we invited children to “join the Smile Patrol team” in fighting cavities and protecting their teeth.
